It’s wild to think it’s already been a year since The Crimson Diamond hit the scene. Julia Minamata’s Canadian-made, EGA-styled mystery has been winning over adventure game fans with its northern Ontario setting, quirky small-town characters, and attention to retro detail. In this interview, she talks about the inspirations that shaped the game, the process of building a classic-style adventure game in 2025, and what it takes to bring such a distinctly Canadian story to life.
