Dank Art
I missed LordBBH’s Cuphead stream but mostly because I’m trying not to spoil too much of that game for myself as I do want to play thru it on my own time. Part of my frustration with gaming is that I am on a Mac because of the amount of photo and video editing that I do. The work around is I could always install parallel and go about playing a lot of the newer games that way but in the meantime I’m stuck using the set up I have and waiting for stuff to come out on my system or for a console. In the meantime, I made a bunch of fun Dank’s for BBH’s Monday Roulette stream as usual. LordBBH is taking part in the 1CC Marathon (as well as almost everyone I have featured here) which is happening on Nov 10, 11, and 12th this month. Check out the schedule here.
Chuboh got sick this weekend yet with a little encouragement he took some flu medication and made good on the occasion and did a quick Halloween stream on the 31st complete in his Bongo costume. He had been talking about doing a costume stream for a while in other people’s stream and when I get wind that someone is boasting a costume stream I try to do my best to make sure they live up to it. BTW- here is his Bongo costume. You can see it’s a perfect likeness (minus the beard).
Macaw is king when it comes to finding truly strange games to play. He was streaming a bunch of obscure games for a British computer called the Acorn Archimedes that was popular in the 80’s and 90’s. I have never even heard of this computer but that’s not too surprising as this was primarily a UK computer and a lot of the games for the system are almost forgotten. Somehow he’s managed to find a few of these games by scouring the internet and played a few which was amazing for those who haven’t seen these games in years and for those who’ve never seen this kind of stuff. There have also been some Amiga hijinks through the week though crazy Australia times are conflicting with my regular sleeping habits.

Let’s take a second to talk about CapnClever, possibly one of the better known DOS/PC Retro streamers on Twitch. You might have already seen some of his speed runs at any given GDQ and he’s one of the first people I think of when I think about who’s streaming DOS stuff on Twitch. When I was a kid, I used to walk all the way to the other side of town to just hang out with my one friend Jason to play DOS games in his basement. Lucky for me he moved closer to me and soon I was meeting up with him each morning before school at the crack of dawn to play games. There will always be a soft spot in my heart for old PC games so that’s why you’ll always see me paying my respects to those who stream them! Speaking about old stuff on new things….
SNES MINI
I actually got my hands on the elusive SNES MINI system! It’s really tiny and came pre-loaded with Earthbound on it already so you know I’ve already started to play a game. I wont be streaming this bad boy, but I do intend to enjoy it and take it with me on vacations and adventures if I happen to take a few days off work. The best thing is that now I can put my WiiU away in the closet and just use this tiny machine to play Earthbound since that was the only reason I bought the WiiU in the first place.
Don’t get me wrong, I had intentions to buy other games on the WiiU but I bought Mario Kart and that was about it. Nothing else on that system really appealed to me and I really just wanted to play Earthbound on an HD system. The best thing though about WiiU Earthbound is you can do the Shattered Man glitch trick and IT WORKS! Maybe what I should do is look into capturing that trick to make a How-To video or see if I can do it on my SNES Mini.
I also managed to get a copy of Fantastic Pinball for my Sega Saturn! I have been streaming the PS1 version of the game however I wanted to own a copy and since I have a JP Saturn I decided to buy this copy and see what, if any, differences there might be. I noticed a few minor differences and I feel the ball moves a lot faster in the Saturn version but other than that it’s the same game! If I had to choose which version to get go with the Saturn version as I feel that is the vastly superior one out of the two as I feel the ball moves slower in the PS1 version and I’d rather a faster ball to a light-slow ball.
Also, are you backing my Dank Zine yet? Right now if you are backing you are going to get stickers that feature the sub icons from the feature streamer of the month! I just LOVE giving stuff away and this is another great idea that keeps giving back to the streamers themselves. Make sure you are backing the Zine because you can’t get stickers if you order from the Dank Shop.
